Johnsons Denali Adventure: 26 Glaciers Tour

We did not cover this whole area.

We got up really close to two Glaciers. Surprise and Barry Glaciers.

Surprise Glacier in below pictures.

Leaving Surprise Glacier, still hoping for one of those huge calvings and splashes. The tour guide says that usually cause it, (people turning off their cameras or leaving the glacier).

The following pictures were taken at the bottom of Barry Glacier. Note the seals on the icebergs that have broken off. We didn't see any glacier calving while we were there, but there obviously had been some based on the icebergs.

This is The bottom of Cascade Glacier

In 2005 Barry Glacier on the Right was all the way out and connected with the bottom of Cascade Glacier. It has receded that much in 10 years!

Whittier from boat. All the "residents" live in the big building in the center of the picture. Whittier is primarily a year round shipping port as the Prince William Sound is very deep and does not freeze over. That and the tourist trade support is about the extent of it.

Eggs Rock Sea Lion Rookery. This was really the first

"destination" on the tour. They served lunch as we traveled out to this spot. Several glaciers were visible on the way.

Sea Otters! Saw a lot of these.

Cascade Glacier from end of Esther Passage, before going into College Fjord.
