Wish these were mine. These were from a morning fishing trip by another charter company. They were there when I got to the launch site. Notice Gulls in the background waiting for fish parts from the fileting board to left.
This is my boat. Guide cleaning up from Morning Run. They had 6 passengers.
Timing is everything. The morning boat was full. My boat in afternoon was just me and my guide.
Traveling up river to fishing place. Swerving to keep in the channel. Not a deep river.
This is Jeff holding the first biggest fish I got into the boat. Missed, I think, a bigger male Salmon before this. Had it close to boat but it got off the hook when I tried to relax the line into the net.
They keep a count of salmon caught from people using the boat launch facility. We went just up to the this sign and fished below that.
Return trip. Lots of birds on the river.
They start them young up there for fishing.
My catch! I missed two others right at the boat. I think the first one was larger (Longer) than the biggest one here. Netted about 8 lbs of salmon filets. YUM!
There were a lot of fish we could see, but they just were not hitting the bait/lures. I got my limit of three.
The big one came in at 8.5 lbs.
My guide Jeff, preparing to filet the fish for me.
How to Filet a Salmon!
